Faustina Ampah, a former Black Queens defender and current assistant coach of Premier League club Ridge City FC, has expressed her frustration with poor officiating in the ongoing Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League (WPL).
In a recent interview with GNA Sports, Ampah called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to appoint qualified referees for the league to avoid unfair decisions that could discourage talented players. She also attributed Ridge City FC’s winless run in the league to players’ inexperience and poor officiating.
Despite the team's performance, Ampah commended the players for their “can do spirit” and is determined to work on their mistakes to come back stronger. Ridge City FC will play their final match against Berry Ladies on Saturday at the Madina AstroTurf.
